We look forward to meeting you!
Welcome to Paintersville C&MA Church. Here you will find a warm and welcoming congregation happy to have you become a part of our family. After being met by a greeter, you will likely be greeted by many of our regular members who just want you to feel right at home. Please consider completing a "Dear Visitor" card, available throughout the pews.
Come as you are.
While you may see some in dresses and suits, many others will be much more casual than that, including jeans, sneakers, and t-shirts; it doesn't matter to us how fancy you dress for church, what matters is that you feel comfortable joining us for worship.
Something for everyone.
One mark of Paintersville is the diversity of ages in our fellowship; we have infants, children, teens, young adults, families, and senior citizens all worshiping, learning, and serving together. Paintersville has a nursery available for those who wish to use it, children's church (through 2nd grade) during the second part of the morning service, a Sunday School class for every age group, junior & senior high youth groups and a young adults group each Wednesday evening, along with Pioneer Clubs for children.
Worship
We love to worship our Lord Jesus and we take it very seriously! Each Sunday morning a worship team leads us a combination both new and old songs. We are beginning the process of adding live instruments (besides piano and organ) to our service. We regularly introduce new-to-us songs alongside the ones we have been using all along. Feel free to clap, raise your hands, say "Amen!"--or not, depending on what you're comfortable doing. During our last song, feel free to come to altar for the elders to pray for any healing need (physical, emotional, etc.) you may have; it is called our "Hymn of Healing." On Sunday evenings we have a more traditional hymn-sing style of worship.
Biblical preaching & teaching
Each Sunday morning and evening, Pastor Sherman brings a message from the Word of God. It is our desire to know God more deeply through His Word and to grow and serve Him better as a result. Pastor Sherman believes in declaring the full counsel of God so the topics are diverse but always rooted in the Scriptures and focused on Jesus Christ. Sunday evening is more of an informal Bible-study approach to the message.
All our volunteer teachers are committed to teaching the Bible to young and old. We have a variety of Sunday School classes for children, teens, and adults and a class committed to adults with learning disabilities. Wednesday Pioneer Clubs is an active learning environment that stresses Christ in every aspect of life.
